YAY!!! Got a call on Wednesday from Janome that Missy [I suddenly decided that I'll call my sewing machine that] is coming home!! YAY!!! Yes, after being sewing machineless for more than 1 week, I think it is about time that she came home.

While I hardly had time to sew this week anyway coz of work and all, I can’t wait to start up again. I’m not sure how I’m going to manage coz by the time I get home from work, I’m so knackered. And while I used to be able to stay awake till about 1am every night, staying up past 11.30pm is now a miracle! lol I blame it on my job. In any case, I will have to think of something coz I really want to sew up another mei tai using proper cotton drill which by the way, I haven’t bought just yet. Have to convince DH to take me to Spotlight to get it coz the ones I’ve seen on eBay is just not appealing enough and the ones I like is not suitable!! Also, I really hate it when I have to pay so much for postage. Seems like such a waste, you know?

It’s summer now and believe or not, I can’t find my short jeans!!!! So I’ve been suffering in silence and wearing my long jeans everywhere we go. So much so that DH asked me to get a pair of short jeans coz he thought I was silly to suffer in silence like that. But I had other plans.

Well, actually, I did go and check out the sales at Kmart and Target but even with the sales, I still thought it was not worth it. So on to Plan B – upcycle DH’s old jeans!! Nothing beats an already seasoned pair of jeans coz it’s oh-so-soft and comfy to wear. I used the upper part to make my jeans by just chopping off the leg to the length that I wanted and hemmed it up. Since all that was left was the chopped off bit of the legs, I decided to whip a pair up for Arianna.

Very simple coz I didn’t bother with zippers and such. Just used elastic in place of the very complicated jeans zipper. In fact, this is a leggings pattern from Otto…I think it’s #16, 04/04 from memory. And I merely used up the 2 bits of legs to the maximum to reach that length. Also added a bit of trimmings to make a little more fancy. Heh.

I like it. TFL….

You must all think I’m mad but heck, they say 3 times lucky!

Anyway, just saw this uber cute reversible pinny and omg, I WANT IT!!!! I’ve always wanted to make one for KR but I don’t have any patterns and this one is just the one that I want to make!!! It’s called the Gaga Bum Reversible Pinafore and I just cant repeat if any more and stress how much I love it!

I’m keeping all my fingers, toes, eyes and whatever else I can, crossed that I win this!!
